he’s just as surprised as you are— the action just came out of nowhere and just before he opens his mouth to apologize profusely and retreat into his old ways, terrified of becoming someone you are afraid of, you giggle.

and he’s once again reminded of your near foolish fearlessness when it comes to him. how you trust him entirely and would never even fathom him in that angry, mean way he used to embody. no, from the looks on your face you’re just barely restraining yourself from grabbing his cheeks and cooing like a grandmother.

anyways yes i fully believe he would snap his chompers at you the way dogs do... obviously not to hurt but that's just their way of playing yk??? first time he does it he literally goes rigid. you’re being silly, sitting next to him on the couch and poking at his ears without a care in the world. he rolls his eyes at the antics—you seem to enjoy the way his ears flick every time you touch them. he halfheartedly tells you to quit it and yet makes no effort to get you to stop, too busy focusing on your quiet giggles.

and then without any warning, he finds his teeth nipping at your arm. you freeze. he freezes. he knows it wasn't hard enough to draw blood but it appalls him that he even bared his fangs at you in the first place. the guilt that washes over him is almost dizzying, intensified by a strange sense of fear. that's it—he's now exposed himself as the uncontrollable animal he's always been. you'll see it now, just how dangerous and scary he is.

he's waiting for your anger with bated breath, but all he hears is a chime of laughter. he glances at you, and finds the most amused grin he's ever seen. "i hope you know that lil chomp is not stopping me."

he blanches. "that... it didn't hurt?"

you raise a brow. "of course not. it basically felt like a tickle."

toji's head spins. the way you catch him off guard is scary. he always needs to backtrack and remember that you don't view him through that lense—that to you he's nothing more than an overgrown puppy. which, to him, is extremely ridiculous. but only someone as naive as you could stare at a wolf hybrid who has known nothing but violence and say that his teeth are nothing but a tickle. you are so stupidly compassionate, sweet in a way that warms his tongue—addicting and vice-like.

"you know these teeth have bitten off literal flesh, right?" he questions. you grin, eyes crinkling in a strangely familiar way.

"so? not like they'd do anything to me." your smile is blindingly smug, and toji's shoulders relax. once again, you are too trusting. it infuriates him—how correct you are. there is a pulse against his ribcage that seems to steadily speed up the longer he looks at you. so frustrating.

you reach up and jab your pointer finger into his cheek, and he doesn't think twice before trying to snap at it. your laughter echoes through his ears as you pull your hand away quickly, and the wry grin on his face seems all too natural.

"not do anything, huh? careful, next time 'm taking that finger with me."

7 minutes in heaven: 21. Nibble the ear

isabela slams the door of the closet and hawke finds herself in the dark with fenris. her heart skips a beat. not out of fear but uncertainty. she's not sure how well she can handle this. the tension between them was very solid, very real, ever since that one night. they both know to keep their distance since. no lingering gazes if they can be helped for they are just two... friends. hawke tries to forget but her body doesn't outright refuses. he is a magnet for the iron in her blood. on the regular it's thickly sweet, suffocating to be around fenris while he accompanies her... now their bodies are far too close. she curses the owner of this tight closet.

looking down, her habit next to him, is now useless. inside pure darkness rules, not a single creak allows light to peak in... hawke lifts her gaze and finds his glinting eyes fixated on her. damn these elves and their piercing cat gazes. it fits fenris far too well, drives her imagination wild with illusions. she squeezes her thighs together and breathes slowly.

she tries to lean back, elbow bumps against the door, and it creaks. locked. what closet has a lock? hawke regrets drinking and agreeing to play. and that she didn't force merrill to switch seats with her. she moves slightly to the side, unable to prevent her knee sliding against his.

he clears his throat and hawke feels a rush in her veins again. time to act confident, be her usual self, break the ice. ❝ i know you're expecting me to be on my worst behavior, ❞ she chuckles. can he tell she's nervous? hawke gently places her palms on fenris's shoulders. it's not hard to find his form.

❝ isabela says we have to makeout, but i know you don't want to. ❞ his eyes are still on her. maker, if he knew the things he made her feel. what she would do to have those eyes stare and know they desire her...

alcohol stirs her. hawke leans in closer, tip-toeing to reach beyond his ear. ❝ they expect us to do something, so i will make sure you don't come off as a liar when they ask. ❞ and she reaches, fingertips brushing the left ear she was whispering into. ❝ i've never told you, but... i love your ears. ❞ her voice is low, melodic as her focus is wholly on the foreign feeling. she drags her touch to its sharp tip and then calls her hand back.

❝ and sometimes i just want to... ❞ her voice fades. a moment of silence and she can hear her heartbeat thumping. screw it. she may never get to do this. she leans again, using his shoulder for support, and her lips brush against the cartilage. she inhales, parts her lips and gently bites his ear. it's a selfish indulgence that he can hate her for and blame the alcohol for.

the nibbles are light, for she suspects his ears may not be like a human's. she places a kiss there and pulls back as if burnt. ❝ there. frogive me for playing by the rules. ❞ or not. she'd understand. her eyes remain closed, afraid to see hatred seep into him.

[11] Who amongst their retinue are they closest to?

Outside of her main love interest, Lilith is closest to Idira Tlass and the Haneumanns. The Haneumanns are somewhat of a given-- as Lilith is machine-touched and has an innate affinity for those within the Cult Mechanicus. They understand some of her experience and she speaks their language-- a rarity among those not formally initiated. She most enjoys sharing art and music with Abel and discussing theology with Pasqal.

But with Idira, Lilith finds her brash and candid way of interacting with others refreshing. She seems to be the only one on the ship that treats her as a full person-- and less as a walking title. Comradery, laughs and a good drink are things that she finds in Idira.

Though, if they were to meet when Lilith was an active Commissar, their relationship would be much different.

Jae and Abelard are the two that Lilith most frequently gets into spats with. Abelard and Lilith have a similar disposition of being headstrong and unwilling to let their opinion gone unheard. There have been many occasions where the Lord Captian and her Seneschal have openly argued on the Bridge. So frequent are these yelling matches that some of the upper deck crew members have created a betting ring as to who wins the next argument and who would throw the first punch.

Jae, on the other hand, while a smart asset to have on board the Siren Song, she is fundamentally an anathema to everything Lilith has fought for in the Millitarum and her Ordo ✨️ Desertion and sedition are things that she doesn't forgive lightly, if at all. And she had made it quite clear to Jae that Lilith would have been the one to track her down and put a bullet in her head. But by the Emporer's Grace, her calling now lies elsewhere. So their relationship is strenuous at best.

Day 2 - Who’s your favorite Torchwood member? (And if it’s not one of them, who’s your favorite character?) Why are they your favorite? Do you have any secondary favorites (maybe a one-off or minor character that really stuck with you)?

owen, infinitely. i could write essays on why i love owen - hell, i have written essays. and at this point, you know when a character means so much to you there’s not even words for it anymore, they’re just kind of a fundamental part of you? Yeah. but nonetheless, i guess to majorly sum it up, he’s just one of the most utterly broken and fascinating characters i’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across. there's just a visceral sadness and anger to him that immediately reeled me in and i don’t think i’ll ever get over it, like he actually haunts me. and he made his way into my top 3 characters of all time in just a few months, which is pretty damn impressive. something just kinda clicked there. (and i highlight how fucked up he is, but then he's also complex enough that he's got a silly/dorky side too, which im super endeared by as well. i love his complexity. perf character for me, hes got like 30 things going on and im intrigued and compelled by all of them. i love him endlessly.)

also, okay, i’ve observed my favorite characters tend to unintentionally fit certain criteria, like when i look back at all my favs i can sort them into three categories. namely, it's 1) characters that make me lose my mind bc theyre so interesting (and/or endearing), 2) characters i relate to, and 3) characters i’d smash. fhdjkf. i tend to visualize it as a venn diagram, and most characters sit in one or two of the circles - owen is, i believe, the absolute only fav i’ve ever had who’s firmly in the middle. which probably has something to do with why he’s top 3. dhfdsjk

as for secondary favs… well, i absolutely adore the rest of the team, especially ianto and the girls (including suzie!!!!!!!! my girl suzie). i’m not sure why, gwen’s become a particular favorite. she gives me like cuteness aggression HFKSDF i wanna squish her (lovingly). she’s so fucked up n interesting, but also a lil gremlin to me. i love her playful side she’s such a love.

one-off characters… actually, quite a few have stood out to me and made an emotional impact. torchwood has had some wonderfully talented guest actors who really managed to get me attached to their characters, despite having so little screentime. carys, eugene, and beth all come to mind. i think about beth a lot. and maggie, ohhhh maggie. ill talk about aditd a bit tomorrow, ff.

also the episodes with mothers, oh g-d. eugene’s mom, and jonah’s, and jasmine’s. all really heart-wrenching, and damn good actresses. i always get emotional with plotlines about parents + their kids, fff. parental pain + fear just hits diff idk. i used to watch a ton of criminal minds and that was about the only place my empathy jumped out fhsdkfjd.

i also love the various romantic interests - john, diane, mary, lisa, mark (cough), katie, tommy. rhys!! i love you rhys. torchwood is such a character-focused fixation for me like g-d i just adore every character sm. so many good ones. AND HOW COULD I FORGET MY FAV GUY OF ALL - ANDY!!!!!!!! ily pc andy <3 <3 <3
